Despite arriving in the Asheville area nearly three weeks ago – it wasn’t until finally last weekend that I was able to get a gig at The Wall Street Coffee House & Emporium – a decent sized set up of 4 totems mounted on a variety of black photo mounting board and altered cardboard. (collage to right) It was exciting to work over the past week on the set-up of this structure. Even better I am lucky enough to be able to share this space with a local artist who does fantastic work crafting Native American flutes! (I feel a very complementary fit). At the open mic last night, also at Wall Street Coffee, after presenting several micro fictions and a few poems – the open mic’s most gracious host, Danielle R. also made note of my display in the front of the shop –
Next time you’re down near the Grove Arcade area of downtown Asheville, swing a few blocks over to Wall Street Coffee – and grab yourself a coffee/tea (or smoothy) while you take a gander!
Note – sales of Totems at Wall Street Coffee House and Emporium are set within “mounted” pricing brackets, and are set up to, but do not currently include #’s to provide “Totem Tracking”. If you are interested in obtaining a number please send me a contact line through this site so that I can work to schedule a meet up for my next pass through of Asheville!
